At Champlin Park High School, we strive to provide students with an educational theatre experience. By providing four productions throughout the school year, we allow opportunities for all students to become involved. These productions include Musicals, Student Written or Published One-Act Plays and a Full Length Play. All students are encouraged to take part in the productions whether performing on stage, helping on the technical side, playing in the pit orchestra, or writing their own script.
We strive to vary the student’s theatre experience by providing a wide range of performance styles and cast sizes. Occasionally smaller cast shows are chosen to allow students the opportunity to really develop their acting skills in a smaller acting setting similar to a sports varsity team where more focus can be placed on the individual performer. Our productions allow students the opportunity to take part in Comedies, Dramas, Classics, and Modern Works. A wide range of shows are chosen, including works not as well known, in order to build the students resumes that stand apart from others when applying for college.
